Ruth Casteel

Naomi "Ruth" Casteel of Annapolis, Missouri, known to most as Ruth, passed away August 23, 2016 in Desloge, Missouri at the age of 81 years. She was born March 27, 1935 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri the daughter of the late Samuel Lewis and Mattie Marie (Killian) Mosley. On March 27, 1953 she was united in marriage to Howard Hampton Casteel who survives. To this union three children were born; Garry Wayne Casteel of Annapolis, Missouri, Susan Kay James and husband Keith of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and Brenda Marie Green and husband Larry of Benton, Arkansas. Ruth is also survived by a brother, Charles Mosley of O'Fallon, Missouri, a sister, Melba Cooka of Arizona, six grandchildren; Steve, Shannon, Tina, Jamie, Shawna and Larry Jr., and ten great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Hodges, her brother, Paul Mosley, and her sisters; Dell Marie Stoner, Virginia Sickman, and Roselle Moser. Ruth was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Annapolis Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and she enjoyed oil painting.
