Roy "Tom" Richardson Sr.

June 6, 1955 - September 13, 2020

Roy Thomas Richardson, Sr., known to most as Tom, passed away on September 13, 2020 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of sixty-five years. He was born June 6, 1955 in Glen Carbon, Illinois the son of the late William and Cloretta (Campbell) Richardson Sr. On April 4, 2015 he was united in marriage to Jeannette (Nash) Richardson who survives. Also surviving are three children: Bambi Partridge (Scott) of Park Hills, Missouri, Roy Thomas Richardson Jr. (Lisa) of Mineral Point, Missouri, and Vicki Evans (Jason) of Park Hills, Missouri, stepdaughter; Emily Nash (Zach) of Whitehouse, Tennessee, three grandchildren, four step grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Five brothers survive: Madison Sronce (Susan) of Plainview, Illinois, Dennis Richardson of Chesterfield, Illinois, William Wyman Richardson Jr., Paul Sronce, Jr. of Carlinville, Illinois, and George Sronce of Brighton, Illinois, and two sisters: Cloretta Robinson of Donnellson, Illinois, and Pauline Schmedeke of Elk Creek, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his stepfather who raised him, Paul Eugene Sronce Sr., three brothers; George Richardson, Michael Richardson, and William Richardson, and one sister; Millie Jean Richardson. Tom enjoyed all types of hunting but especially deer and squirrels. He also was known to “hunt” moles. He had great patience in watching for any signs of mole activity on the ground and this was a source for family jokes. Tom also enjoyed fishing and any type of outdoor activity. He could spend the entire day outside just “piddling”. Memorials may be made to Tom’s family to help defray medical expenses. Due to recent increase in COVID – 19 cases, all family members and guests are required to wear a mask or facial covering while visiting our facility. Social distancing is also expected to keep family members and staff safe. Seating capacity has been reduced to accommodate social distancing. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
