Ira Ancel Lambert

Ira Ancel Lambert passed away with his family by his side November 12, 2016 in Middlebrook Missouri at the age of 94 years. He was born June 3, 1922 to the late Melvin and Stella (Stricklin) Lambert. On December 23, 1949, he was united in marriage to Reba Arlene Miller. To this union three children were born: Roy Douglas Lambert and wife Brenda of Middlebrook, Missouri, Althea Gay (Lambert) Brakefield and husband Roy of Park Hills, Missouri and John Alan Lambert and wife Linda of Middlebrook, Missouri. Ira is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, his children, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Loyal Lambert and wife Faye, his sister-in-laws Dorothy Lambert and Iness Morrison, his brother-in-laws Arthur Buford and Darrel Miller and wife June as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ira was preceded in death by his brothers Lovell Lambert, Lawrence Lambert, Golden Lambert and wife Hester, Lonnie Lambert and wife Genva, Clarence Lambert and wife Edith and brother-in-law Gary Morrison; sisters Della Lambert, Lorene Buford, Iva Miller and husband Paul, Gladys Nash and husband Jim, and sister-in-law Mary Miller. Ira retired from Brown Shoe Company after 26 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Ira enjoyed farming, cutting wood, gardening, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
