Freddie Ray Sutton, 71 of Sweeny, TX passed away in his home on April 18, 2016. He was born in Arcadia, MO on April 18, 1945. He served in the United States Army Reserves for 8 years; he was a 32 degree mason and a past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter 349 in Ironton, MO. He was a loving husband, father and was a hard worker; a member and deacon of Marble Creek United Baptist Church for many years and later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Acres in Brazoria. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, but most of all he loved being a servant for the Lord. Visitation will be held Wednesday on April 20, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob, Missouri with his two brothers, Elder Larry Sutton and Elder Mark Sutton officiating on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2:00pm with a visitation being from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Burial will be at Arcadia Valley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Devin Sutton, Clyde Lewis, Mark Sutton, Larry Sutton, Edward Sutton and Jacob Sutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Reese, Brett Duncan and Troy Carver. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Nelda Ruth Sutton of Sweeny; son, Devin W. Sutton; brothers, Larry Sutton and wife, Cindy of Arcadia, MO; and Mark Sutton and wife, Sheree of Arcadia, MO; aunt, Maudrie Reves of Arcadia, MO; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Clyde and Debra Lewis of Lake Jackson; Jack Reese of Arcadia, MO; Troy Carver and wife, Joyce of Park Hills, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman Leon Sutton and Hazel Virginia Sutton; son, Darin Dean Sutton, brother, Edward Leon Sutton and sister, Ramona Evelyn Reese. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends mourn his passing.
