November 5, 1931 - April 8, 2021
From matriarch to guardian angel. Doris Marie Hull peacefully passed away at her residence on April 8, 2021 at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. Doris Marie Worden was born on November 5, 1931, in Yount, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Donald and Goldie (Winfield) Worden. On November 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to Lawrence David Hull, who preceded her in death on February 13, 2004. To this union three children were born: Judith Hull who preceded her in death, Linda (Bill) Hogan of Ironton, Missouri, Debra Thorn of Titusville, Florida; and an additional daughter Donna Hill of Arcadia, Missouri; sisters: Connie Sadler of Caledonia, Missouri and Janet Kearns of Potosi, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Amy (Eric) Thompson, Travis (Vanessa) Hogan, Tara (Scott) Lamb, Sarah (Chris) Ellis, Lindsey (Greg) Holladay, Kristin (Alvin) Cruz, Kylie (Chris) Foster, and Andrea (Kole) Yates, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great- great grandchildren, as well as host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, Doris was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph Donald Worden Jr., Murphy Worden, and Jerome Worden; one sister, Delores Owens, and her son-in-law, Carl Dee Thorn. Doris attended the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse’s aide for St. Mary’s of the Ozarks Hospital, and the Arcadia Valley Hospital for a total of forty-one years before retiring. She and her husband, Lawrence, were members of the Horseman’s Association. She enjoyed cleaning, ironing, gardening in her flower beds, bird watching and taking care of others. She was the most giving woman to everyone around her. She sent cards, prepared food, made sandwiches for the trash man and mail carrier, the list of her generosity is endless. She touched so many lives, but above all else, she loved her family endlessly and loved spending as much time with them as she possibly could. She was one of a kind and will be deeply missed. May her generosity and love carry on and live through the lives of her loved ones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iron Mountain First Baptist Church or Serenity Hospice.
